COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Columbus police continued to investigate a rash of small, early morning fires officials said were set intentionally.

The majority of the fires involved dumpsters or trash cans, but one of the first fires crews responded to happened at a garage in the 2500 block of West Broad Street.
Columbus fire was called to the scene close to 1 a.m. Monday.
Crews quickly extinguished the garage fire, but soon after the garage fire was reported, a Columbus police chopper spotted additional fires, mainly at dumpsters and trashcans, all on the city's West Side.
By 2:30 a.m., the fires totaled almost a dozen.
Officials took two people of interest into custody in connection to the fires.
There wasn't any information on files charged currently.
Power crews left the garage-fire scene close to 6:30 a.m. after making some repairs.
