DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio -- A teen was charged with allegedly setting a fire at a local high school.

A Delaware County grand jury returned an indictment Friday charging a student with setting a fire in a locker at Buckeye Valley High School, said Delaware County Prosecuting Attorney Dave Yost.
Kori Cooley, 19, of 303 S. Franklin St., Ashley, was indicted on one count of aggravated arson, a second-degree felony, and one count of arson, a fourth-degree felony.
Cooley was arrested Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, after he allegedly caused damage to a school desk by lighting it on fire then setting fire in a school locker using paper towels.
"He said he wanted to get out of school but couldn’t miss any more days," Yost said. “He needs to be out of school permanently. The safety of all our children must come before the education of any one of them."
The school was evacuated, and no one was injured.
Cooley faced as much as 9.5 years in prison for his alleged crimes.
