ST. PARIS, Ohio – Four children were killed in an early-morning fire in Champaign County, approximately 75 miles west of Columbus.
In a release issued by the State Fire Marshall’s Office, the investigation continues as to what may have caused the blaze.
Fire crews were called to the mobile home around 2:45 a.m. early Saturday morning.
Two adults and one child were able to escape the flames through a window and injuries are unknown at this time. Four other children that were in the house, died in the fire.
The names and ages of the victims are not available at this time.
Investigators will be on the scene most of the morning conducting interviews and examining the scene. The mobile home was equipped with detectors; however, they were not operational.
