New Graduates Enter 'Real' World

»  Comments | Post a Comment

COLUMBUS, Ohio-- Winter quarter at the Ohio State University brought forth 2,000 new graduates taking diplomas into the most challenging job environment in decades.

Yet the new grads who spoke with NBC 4 were in an upbeat mood.

Journalism major Michael Bestic was typical when asked if he was nervous. "A little bit. But I'm sure I'll find something."

Erica Bachmayer studied psychology. "Hopefully the economy will get better and easier to find a job."

Another student we spoke to is going to graduate school, and still another majored in a health field and has a job lined up.

The new grads were encouraged with a speech from University President Gordon Gee and speaker Yvette McGee Brown.

And in any case, the class of 2009 is done with term papers and tests.
