WHITEHALL, Ohio -- Authorities continued to investigate an overnight home invasion that left one man dead.
NBC 4's Tom Brockman reported with the FAST FACTS.
The department received a 911 call at about 2:13 a.m. Wednesday, according to Whitehall police.
The caller said a shooting had just occurred at his residence in the 100 block of Fairway Boulevard.
Officers responded and found the caller and the shooting victim at the address.
The shooting victim was transported to Grant Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
An interview with the caller revealed he admittedly is a marijuana dealer.
He said prior to the shooting, he opened his door to two males and one female.
Upon opening the door, the three suspects forced their way into his home, a police report said.
After the entry into the home, one of the male intruders was shot, and other two intruders fled the area prior to police arrival, police said.
The identity of the gunshot victim was being withheld pending verification of his identity.
