DAYTON, Ohio -- Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton will soon get $22.8 million in federal stimulus money.
The funding announced Monday money will pay for repairs, such as new roofs and the resurfacing of a track at the base fitness center.
It will also supply $1.4 million to repair lighting systems across the base for energy conservation as well as pay for work on a perimeter fence aimed at protecting against terrorism.
In addition, the money will go toward the installation of canopies over security checkpoints to shield guards from adverse weather.
