COLUMBUS, Ohio -- It's a heated debate raging in Clintonville since 1965 -- whether or not to add a turn lane to East North Broadway at North High Street.
Last week, the City of Columbus presented its findings during a public meeting.
The city said the left turn lane would increase the efficiency of the road and reduce traffic tie-ups, but not everyone is on board.
"I think the proposal is pretty poor and it has not been thought through the city has only done an hour study on this intersection," said Carole Tomko, an area resident.
"What some people have alleged is they only looked at it for an hour. That is not true," said D. Searcy, Chair of the Clintonville Area Commission.
The decision is now in the hands of Clintonville commissioners.
Searcy said that if commissioners do not go ahead with the turn lane, the $380,000 from the city will go back into the general capital funds.
There is no word on when the commissioners will vote on the left turn lane.
