Homeless Man Goes To College

»  Comments | Post a Comment

DAYTON, Ohio
An Ohio man who appeared in a national magazine's report on homelessness is being given the chance to go to college.

Officials at Sinclair Community College in Dayton say they became aware of 19-year-old Antwuan McCoy through a People magazine project and have offered him a scholarship.

McCoy says he used to walk Dayton's streets all night and sleep in the daytime because he felt safer that way.

Now he lives in an apartment at an emergency youth shelter that also offers transitional housing for young adults. McCoy says he's thankful for the help he has received and hopes sharing his story will help other homeless teens.
