COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Workers were told not to come back to work, and past paychecks bounced.
That's just the beginning for some local professional drivers.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
Local employees of Illinois-based Mid-States Express were told to not come into work anymore and that operations ended.
Mid-States Express' Columbus terminal on the city's West Side was shutdown.
The shutdown was bad news for the drivers, but the company doesn't have money for payroll, either, according to an e-mail that was sent to drivers.
So, past paychecks were bouncing.
The company said it hopes to pay the past paychecks, possibly next week, but cannot promise anything.
"People were counting on this paycheck -- not alone their trying to take last week's paycheck," driver Ferlando Mayes said.
Thirty drivers lost their jobs and also learned the money they were paying for health insurance wasn't being paid. The drivers also are responsible for past medical bills.
