COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A former city manager pleaded guilty to an importuning charge Tuesday.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

William H. Nelson Jr., 48, was charged with one count of importuning after he allegedly was communicating in an online chat room with a detective posing as a 14-year-old girl.

That was on or about Oct. 3, 2008, according to Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney Ron O'Brien.

Nelson allegedly arranged to meet the "girl" at a Grove City restaurant.

Nelson was arrested upon arrival at the determined meeting location.

Nelson pleaded guilty to the charge, a felony 5, in a Franklin County courtroom before Judge Charles Schneider Tuesday.

Nelson recently resigned from the position of Miamisburg city manager.

Judge Schneider ordered a psychological evaluation for Nelson, and Nelson was scheduled to be sentenced at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 13.
