COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The closing of eight Columbus recreation centers due to city-wide budget cuts means thousands will vote elsewhere on May 5.
The Franklin County Board of Elections began the process of reassigning those eight polling places to other locations.
Working with the city, BOE officials successfully completed that task and began notifying affected voters in April.
Some 34,000 postcards went out, including those to Franklin County residents that voted at one of the rec centers.
Here is the list of some of those recreation centers and where those polling places were relocated:
Barrack Recreation Center polling place moves to Lincoln Park Elementary School at 579 East Markinson Ave.
Fedderson Rec Center polling place moves to Christain Assembly at 4099 Karl Road.
Glenwood Rec Center polling place moves to Hilltop Church of God at 635 Whitethorne Ave.
Krumm Park Recreation Center polling place moves to Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church at 3161 East Fifth Ave.
Sullivant Gardens Recreation Center polling place moves to Dodge Park Recreation Center at 667 Sullivant Ave.
Indian Mound Rec Center polling location is now located at either Scioto Retirement Community at 433 Obetz Road or Cedarwood Elementary School at 775 Bartfield Drive.
In all there were 30 polling place changes for Tuesday's election. Voters with questions should contact the Franklin County Board of Elections office or visit http://vote.franklincountyohio.gov/.
