COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Almost as quickly as the H1N1 virus spread, con artists are looking for ways to make a quick buck.
You may have even seen them in your email: products promising to protect you from swine flu or even to help cure you. But the Food and Drug Administration and the Better Business Bureau are warning people to be weary of such sites.
Kip Morse the President of the Better Business Bureau of Central Ohio says, “They could be phishing attacks trying to get information from individuals by going to fraudulent sites or existing companies trying to capitalize on other products they may have to try and bring it tie it into the Swine Flu epidemic.”
Remember the CDC says at this time there is no vaccine for the current H1N1 virus. Good hygiene is a must in trying to prevent the flu.
If you suspect a fraudulent website or product contact the Better Business Bureau or the Food and Drug Administration.
