NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

The two cases that were confirmed positive Tuesday included a 39-year-old female from Holmes County and a 39-year-old female from Portage County.

Ohio had a total of five confirmed cases Tuesday morning: the two women who were confirmed in Holmes and Portage counties, a 9-year-old male in Lorain County and two men in their 30s in Franklin County.

Central Ohio’s confirmed cases remained at two Tuesday, and both were in Franklin County: One is a 31-year-old male; the other is a 33-year-old male.

The Ohio Department of Health also updated its probable cases Tuesday and listed Franklin County as having one probable case in an 18-year-old male and one probable case in a 30-year-old male in Butler County.

The H1N1 influenza case announced by The Ohio State University last Friday (the Franklin County probable) was classified as probable, pending laboratory tests by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Late Friday, OSU officials said a 19-year-old male student in Stradley Hall was diagnosed with a probable case of H1N1. According to the university, the student was exposed to the virus outside the university through close contact with family members that were believed to have the H1N1 virus.

Four new Franklin County suspected cases were sent to the state laboratory Monday for testing.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have confirmed 279 cases in 36 states.
