WW2 Uniform Donated

DAYTON, Ohio
The uniform of a Mexican pilot who flew alongside U.S. forces in World War II has been donated to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton.

The pilot served with the 201st Mexican Fighter Squadron, also known as the Aztec Eagles, a unit that provided tactical support to the U.S. Army Air Forces' 58th Fighter Group in the Pacific. The squadron was the only military unit from Mexico ever to serve outside the country's borders.

Museum spokeswoman Sarah Parke says the Mexican pilot's uniform, hat and boots will be added later this year to an exhibit that spotlights artifacts from World War II's Allied and Axis powers.
