FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio -- South-Western City Schools’ levy failure sent shock waves to students and parents who wanted to keep athletics and other student activities in place.
High-school busing will be canceled.
There won’t be any sports or after-school activities for middle- and high-school students.
Two of the district's schools will close.
More than 50 staff already have been notified they will be laid off.
Some student athletes say they feel hopeless now that district sports will be cut.
One sophomore at Grove City High School says he feels like his college scholarship dreams are over.
He says he can't afford to move to another district but says other student told him they are moving.
The district has the option of going back to voters in August.
