NEW YORK -- Wendy's/Arby's Group says it posted a $10.9 million loss in the first-quarter as Arby's sales fell and it took a one-time $15 million charge, in part, to integrate the two fast food chains.
The quick-service restaurant chain lost 2 cents per share in the period. That compares to a loss of $67.5 million, or 73 cents per share, a year earlier.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected profit of 3 cents per share on revenue of $889.7 million.
Atlanta-based Wendy's/Arby's Group Inc.'s revenue more than doubled to $773.2 million from $281.6 million. The owner of Arby's bought the Dublin, Ohio-based Wendy's chain last year.
In the first quarter, same-store sales fell 8 percent at Arby's and rose 0.3 percent at Wendy's.
