CENTRAL OHIO -- A Columbus firefighter was shot during a hunting accident Friday morning.

CFD Battalion Chief David Whiting confirmed Lieutenant David Blair was shot Friday.
He was shot by his companion who was hunting with a shotgun, according to Whiting.
Whiting said the Blair was out of surgery at Grant Medical Center at 11: 44 a.m. He will recover in the hospital for a week.
Whiting confirmed the location of the shooting as Morgan County.
MedFlight confirmed a shooting victim out of a hunting accident was transported from Stockport, Ohio, which is in Morgan County, to Grant Medical Center at 6:55 a.m.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources was conducting an investigation.
Blair is a 16-year veteran of CFD. He's a floating firefighter. He doesn't work at any one fire station.
