Council Approves Funding For Kingsdale Redevelopment

»  Comments | Post a Comment

UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio -- According to Upper Arlington officials, there have been 15 years of debate over what to do with Kingsdale shopping center.

City Council voted unanimously to let Continental Real Estate -- a local developing company -- purchase the shopping center from its current Florida owner, Regency, for $20 million.

The City of Upper Arlington approved spending $5.3 million to facilitate office development for the property.

The funding will be added to $15.7 million being spent by Continental in construction. It will be used once considerable construction is completed on the property.

A brand-new Giant Eagle is in the works for the Kingsdale Shopping Center. The grocer could be installed in the center by 2010.
