GALLOWAY, Ohio -- One person was injured and one person died after a fatal two-vehicle crash Saturday night.
The crash between a minivan and a car Saturday evening occurred within sight of a Prairie Township firehouse.
Officials said a female driver was trapped in her vehicle and sustained life-threatening injuries before being removed and taken to Doctor's West Hospital.
She died from her injuries Sunday, according to authorities. Franklin County officials identfy her as Eva Thomas, 56,of Columbus.
The second driver, a 45-year-old man Joseph Fredericks, was taken to Grant Medical Center, but authorities at the scene said his injuries were much less serious. He was in stable condition Sunday morning.
The accident was on Hubbard Road, very near the Madison County line. A release from the department says Mrs. Thomas's car was southbound on Hubbard when it went off the right side of the road, then back across the center line striking the Fredericks van. An investigation contnues.
