POMEROY, Ohio -- The state Highway Patrol says two teenagers and an infant were killed when their car drifted across the center divide and collided with a tractor-trailer on a southeast Ohio road.
Patrol Lt. R.E. Grau says in a statement that 18-year-old Shane Day of Pomeroy lost control of the 2000 Chevrolet Malibu he was driving at about 6:50 a.m. Monday.
Grau says the tractor-trailer hit Day's car on its right side, causing both vehicles to travel off of a state route in Meigs County.
Grau says 16-year-old Autumn Demoss of Racine and 5-month-old Caden Day, also of Racine, were pronounced dead at the scene. Demoss and Day were riding in the back seat.
Both vehicles were heavily damage. The patrol says the driver of the tractor-trailer was not treated for injuries.
