Holocaust Survivors Relieved After Demjanjuk Deportation

»  Comments | Post a Comment

BEACHWOOD, Ohio
Holocaust survivor Bea Berger says she's wants to throw a party after hearing that alleged Nazi death camp guard John Demjanjuk has been deported from Cleveland to Germany.

He faces charges in Munich that he was an accessory to 29,000 murders at the Sobibor camp in Nazi-occupied Poland during World War II. He denies the accusations.

Berger spent part of her Tuesday afternoon with 84-year-old Ruth Frojmovic.

Both say they have followed the Demjanjuk case closely and now have a sense of relief.

The women are residents at Menorah Park, an assisted living community in the Cleveland suburb of Beachwood, about 20 miles from the home where Demjanjuk has lived for several years.
