COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Potential Columbus police cuts are concerning the Ohio State University police force.
The University Commission held its last public-safety meeting of the school year Wednesday afternoon.
One big concern raised is how potential police cuts in Columbus could impact safety on campus.
A CPD deputy chief says if the income tax raise does not pass in August, 200 police officers will be cut from the force, most of the cuts happening in the patrol division.
OSU Police Chief Paul Denton says his force relies on help from CPD for big campus events and relies on them to keep off-campus crime down so it doesn't spill over into campus.
Denton says it is a concern that will be addressed as fall approaches.
