COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus police continued to investigate a late-night East Side home invasion that ended in gunfire.

A violent home invasion Wednesday night sent a man to the hospital in critical condition.
According to the Columbus Police Department,
A suspect or a group of suspects forced their way into an apartment on Brunson Avenue and Clifton Avenue between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Wednesday, according to CPD.
The suspect(s) confronted a male and a female who were in the apartment.
The suspect(s) took the male into the living-room area.
The female told police she heard the male arguing with the suspect(s) and then a gunshot.
The male made his way to a neighbor's apartment, and that was where medics found him.
He was shot in the back
The shooting victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
His condition has been upgraded from critical to serious Thursday morning.
He has since been upgraded from critical condition to serious.
No arrests have been made currently, but CPD's robbery squad continued to investigate the incident.
No more immediate information was available, including the shooting victim's name.
