COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Columbus homicide detectives continued to look for a vehicle and suspects after a relative found a man fatally shot Thursday afternoon.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS Friday.
Homicide detectives were called to a home on the 3700 block of Brice Road on the city's far East Side at about 1:35 p.m. Thursday.
Officers found 58-year-old Randy Hummell fatally shot the first floor of his home, CPD said.
Hummell originally was found by a family member, according to investigators.
Further investigation revealed the homicide might have happened around noon Tuesday.
Area residents reported hearing several shots.
Four black males were seen speeding away from the address in a mid to late 1990s black Ford Taurus, police said.
The vehicle had an Ohio license plate. A partial number was reported as 7581.
Detectives said there has been a rash of area burglaries recently but have not determined if the robberies were related to the homicide.
CPD said a motive for the crime remained unknown.
Anyone with information was asked to contact CPD’s homicide squad at 614-645-4730.
