BUTLER, Ind. -- The mayor of a small northeast Indiana city has died in a motorcycle crash in Ohio.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers say Butler, Ind., mayor Floyd C. Coburn died Sunday afternoon while riding with friends along U.S. 20 in Defiance County. He was 65.

Police say a motorcyclist riding in front of Coburn slowed and Coburn's bike struck him from behind. The crash sent Coburn's motorcycle off the road.

Troopers said Coburn was ejected from the bike and was pronounced dead at the scene. Coburn was wearing a helmet. The other motorcyclist wasn't injured.

Butler is a city of about 2,700 people, 25 miles north of Fort Wayne.
