GROVEPORT, Ohio — A 13-year-old boy died Monday after he apparently was run over by a vehicle more than a week ago.

The child later was identified as Alexander Craig Deskins. He attended Groveport Middle School South, according to his obituary.
Rescuers told NBC 4 the incident happened before 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 10, on private property at 5709 Ebright Rd.
Witnesses said the teen was helping remove brush and debris when another boy got into the vehicle to move it and ran over the 13-year-old victim.
The accident happened nearly a mile off the roadway on a gravel roadway surface.
Officials from the Franklin County sheriff’s office and Madison Township police continued to investigate.
Alexander was transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital with serious injuries.
He passed away Monday, according to the Franklin County sheriff's office.
Alexander’s obituary said friends may call at the Myers-Woodyard Funeral Home, 587 Main St., Groveport from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 21. Burial was to follow in West Virginia.
