COLUMBUS, Ohio -- More than 100 business and community leaders toured areas Wednesday and learned of programs targeting affordable housing in Columbus.
The goal of the tour was to open some eyes on progress made to rehab some communities, and garner support for future projects.
One of the stops was at 21st Street in the King-Lincoln district. Many homes in the area have been torn down and built back into nice homes where families have already moved in and taken charge of their community.
An Americorps worker tries to canvass the neighborhood to find out what needs to be done, and who is willing to step up and get it done.
Just a few blocks from the area sit dozens of homes in disrepair, and residents hope the renovation along 21st Street will be contagious and encourage more people to get involved, and the city to keep the push to clean up parts of Columbus.
