COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Are your pregnant? You could earn some extra cash just for being an expectant parent.
The New Parents Project is a research study at the Ohio State University.
Dr. Sarah Schoppe-Sullivan leads the study.
She says many relationships falter after a baby is born because of the stresses that a new child can bring about.
The study looks at how new parents adjust after their child is born.
"It's a really important issue to figure out what separates those who adjust well versus those who don't because down the line we don't want more couples to separate or divorce," says Schoppe-Sullivan.
The results from the study will be used to create educational programs for expectant parents that go beyond just being prepared for the birth process.
Researchers are still looking for about 70 couples to participate in the study.
Couples do not need to be married to participate.
