CPD: Suspect Demands Clerk Hand Over $20

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A regular customer demanded a convenience-store clerk hand over $20, CPD said.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS Friday.

A suspect entered the UDF at 2635 W. Broad St. on the city’s West Side at 2:29 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, and approached the store clerk.

The suspect demanded the clerk hand over a $20 bill that the clerk was about to drop into the store safe, CPD said in a report.

The clerk hesitated, but the suspect said he would jump the counter.

The clerk handed the $20 bill to the suspect, and the suspect fled the store on foot, CPD said.

The suspect is a local patron and has visited the store before.

He was described as a black male who is in his 30s, is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.
