The Ohio State University distributed an e-mail to students Thursday regarding the patient's probable status of having the H1N1 virus. Columbus Public Health officials confirmed the case Friday afternoon.

According to both city and OSU officials, the off-campus student was voluntarily isolated and receiving treatment.

Local public health officials investigated all contacts and determined that the student had no connection to the other OSU-related cases.
