HAMILTON, Ohio -- A judge in southwest Ohio has been found dead in his home just hours after his second recent drunken-driving arrest. Police Lt. Jeff Braley says Warren County Common Pleas Judge James Heath was found Sunday afternoon by his wife in the master bedroom of his Hamilton Township home. He says there were no signs of trauma to the 47-year-old's body.
Suicide is suspected. The coroner's office is investigating. Heath was arrested Saturday night and accused of operating a vehicle while impaired. He also was arrested in October for drunken driving but pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and agreed to go to counseling. County officials are mourning Heath's death. Commissioner Pat South says Heath was suffering from cancer and the pain of his earlier drunken-driving arrest.
