WILLIAMSBURG, Ohio -- Police say a woman who had recently returned home from Navy deployment in Iraq was killed by her husband, who then turned the gun on himself.
Kurt and Debbie Russell were found dead Monday afternoon in their Williamsburg home.
Clermont County Sheriff Tim Rodenberg says the couple was supposed to attend a Memorial Day Parade.
When their friends showed up at their house and no one answered the door, they peeked through the glass and saw a gun and blood on the floor.
Rodenberg says 41-year-old Kurt Russell shot 44-year-old Debbie Russell in bed and then killed himself in a living room chair.
Rap Sipple, commander of American Legion Post 288, says Debbie Russell was a petty officer in the Navy reserves. She returned home from Iraq in October.
