CROOKSVILLE, Ohio – Two people were killed and four others, including two children, were injured in a crash Monday evening.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
The Lancaster post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol continued to investigate a double-fatal crash that occurred on County Road 6, just west of the village of Crooksville.
William W. Bickford, 25, of New Lexington was traveling eastbound on County Road 6 at about 4:49 p.m. Monday.
Troopers said Bickford was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his Honda Del Sol and drove left of center.
Bickford’s Honda struck a Mitsubishi Montero that was driven by 53-year-old Michael Boley also of New Lexington, authorities said.
Bickford and passenger 24-year-old Jonathon B. Reed of New Lexington died at the scene of the accident.
Boley was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville and later was transferred to Grant Medical Center.
Boley’s three passengers were 42-year-old Cheryl P. Boley, 4-year-old Elliot M. Boley and 6-year-old Mave E. Boley.
Cheryl was transported to Grant Medical Center by Med-Flight.
The two boys were transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital by Med-Flight.
Both children were properly secured in child-safety seats, and Cheryl and Michael were wearing safety belts at the time of the crash, troopers said.
Bickford also was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, but Reed was not and was ejected from the vehicle, according to reports.
The crash remained under investigation.
Alcohol was not believed to have been a factor in the crash.
