PRAIRIE TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Flames raced through a West Side condominium complex, and residents were evacuated in the middle of the night.
NBC 4's Tom Brockman reported with the FAST FACTS.
Fire crews were called out to a fire on city's far West Side on Tarryton Court around 2:30 Wednesday morning.
Firefighters remained on the scene at 6:30 a.m. and were monitoring for flareups.
The fire involved a two-story condo complex, and all residents were forced to evacuate.
“We were laying in bed. We just saw a light, and smelled the smoke. And I'd been hearing a lot of racket the whole night, but I didn't pay attention. And he just jumped up inside of our attic and said it was on flames. And we just got everyone out,” resident Ashley Leadingham said.
The cause of the fire at the Glenford Village complex remained unclear.
The flames did damage a large part of the structure: The roof was destroyed.
Franklin County sheriff's officials told NBC 4 no one was injured.
The American Red Cross was called to the scene to help the displaced residents.
