Prosecutor Seeks International Nazi Warrants

»  Comments | Post a Comment

MADRID
A Spanish prosecutor is seeking international arrest warrants for three alleged former Nazi death camp guards who live in the U.S.

Pedro Martinez Torrijos of the National Court says there's evidence they were accessories to genocide.

A final decision requesting the arrest and extradition of the three is up to a Spanish judge who has been investigating since July. The investigation was triggered by a human rights group
acting on behalf of Spaniards who were held at Nazi camps.

The suspects are Anton Tittjung, of Kewaunee, Wis.; Josias Kumpf, who lives in Racine, Wis.; and Johann Leprich, who lives near Detroit.

A fourth suspect in the Spanish probe is John Demjanjuk. The retired autoworker from Ohio was deported from the United States to Germany earlier this month.
