LANCASTER, Ohio -- A 15-year-old boy is accused of making 95 prank calls to the Fairfield County Sheriff's office 911 system.

Fairfield County Sheriff Dave Phalen said deputies were able to locate the cellular caller with the aid of the sheriff’s office automated enhanced 911 system.

Phalen said deputies then checked the area and located the juvenile at his residence. After talking with the juvenile, he allegedly admitted to making the false 911 calls and was taken into custody and taken to the sheriff’s office, where he was later released to his parents.

“When a false 911 call is received it takes away the attention of the dispatchers from helping someone with a real life emergency,” Phalen said.

The juvenile is being charged with telecommunications harassment, misuse of 911 and harassment of a telecommunicator.
