COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Authorities pulled a dead body from Greenlawn Avenue Dam Tuesday afternoon.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
Columbus police was called to the Greenlawn Avenue Low-Head Dam at about 12:30 p.m. on reports of a body floating in the water.
A man riding his bike over a nearby bridge said he discovered the body when he stopped to take a break.
"I was looking down in the water and I said to myself, 'That looks like a dead body!' Then I said, 'No, that's not a dead body," said Freddie Taylor, a witness.
Taylor said he flagged down an oncoming fire truck and the crew members began a recovery effort.
Police said a fully-clothed female body was pulled from the water at about 12:45 p.m.
CPD's homicide squad was called to the near South Side scene.
Police said they think the body was in the water for less than a day.
Police did not release her identification currently, but she might have been in her 40s.
