COLUMBUS, Ohio -- There were no lines, no wait and a good amount of vaccine left towards the end of Wednesday's H1N1 clinic at Veterans Memorial.
Officials estimated there were 1,200 people vaccinated, compared to about 1,800 people Tuesday.
Even though a smaller crowd turned out for Wednesday's clinic, officials said it is too early to open H1N1 clinics to the general public.
"Franklin County has more clinics later this week. I think if we get an indication from those clinics that their lines are decreasing as well, we might reconsider and open it up. But we still know there are a lot in our target group that still need to be vaccinated," said Dr. Mysheika LeMaile-Williams with the Columbus Public Health Department.
LeMaile-Williams said only a small percentage of people in the target group have received the vaccine. That target group includes children 6 months to 4 years old, children 5 years to 18 years old with underlying medical conditions, pregnant women, caretakers of children younger than 6 months and health-care workers.
