Nokia has recalled millions of faulty cell-phone chargers because of an electric-shock hazard.
Nokia announced the recall program Monday.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
The Nokia-branded chargers were manufactured by third-party supplier BYD Electronic Company of China.
The plastic casing surrounding the chargers in question could separate, exposing the unit's internal components.
Nokia said it would replace the 14 million faulty chargers free of charge.
The recalled models included numbers AC-3E, AC-3U and AC-4U.
To return your charger unit, go to http://chargerexchange.nokia.com/chargerexchange/en/ and enter your charger's model and identification numbers.
If you're unsure if your charger unit is affected, you also can check your model using the exchange site.
If your charger is part of the recall, Nokia recommended you stop using the charger altogether.
You also can get an exchange by calling Nokia at 888-NOKIA2U.
