COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A Columbus firefighter accused of taking nude photos of his girlfriend's daughter was sentenced on several charges Monday.
Timothy Hammonds, a 23-year veteran with Columbus fire, was indicted and officially charged with pandering obscenity involving a minor, gross sexual imposition and tampering with evidence.
He was sentenced to three years for one count of pandering obscenity involving a minor and one year on a charge of gross sexual imposition.
The sentences are to be served consecutively.
He was arrested by Whitehall police Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, on charges of illegal use of a child in nudity oriented material.
Court documents said Hammond went to the 16-year-old female's house around May 20, 2008, and told her they were going to take photos.
Detectives said he managed to persuade her to take off her clothes.
Later, the document said, Hammonds admitted to the teen’s mother about taking the pictures.
Hammonds was working in the Columbus Division of Fire alarm office.
