CLEVELAND -- A bronze statue of a girl with pigtails, valued at $6,000, has been stolen from the memorial garden at a Cleveland hospice.
Officials at the Hospice of the Western Reserve say they noticed the 120-pound, 4-foot-tall sculpture named "Fly Away" missing on Friday. They suspect it was taken to sell for scrap.
Anyone with information on the statue's whereabouts is being urged to contact the hospice, which cares for people dying from ailments including heart and lung disease, and AIDS.
"Fly Away" was donated last year by the family of a patient and has been the centerpiece of the hospice garden.
