NASHVILLE, Tennessee -- Authorities are questioning whether Gibson used illegally harvested and endangered species of rosewood and ebony wood imported from Madagascar to make their instruments.
Agents reportedly carted away boxes of wood, guitars, computers and boxes of files from the company's factory.
Gibson guitar said in a press release Tuesday they are 'fully cooperating with agents with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in connection with the issue.'
No charges have been filed.
Gibson has been headquartered in Nashville since 1984 and specializes in the manufacturing of acoustic and electric guitars.
