Newark Police Arrest Counterfeit Suspects

NEWARK, Ohio -- Two people were arrested Tuesday evening for allegedly printing counterfeit monies.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

Acting on a Crime Stoppers tip, Newark police executed a search warrant at 5 1/2 Krieg St. at about 5:04 p.m. Tuesday.

Pursuant to the search warrant, evidentiary items used in the manufacturing of counterfeit monies were recovered, according to a police report.

Immediately following the search warrant, Randall Hutchinson and Chris Mossy, both of Newark, were taken into custody at separate locations for the alleged offense of criminal simulation by printing United States currency.

Hutchinson was found to be in possession of a firearm and suspect currency when arrested, police said.

Both were cooperating with investigators in the joint local, state and federal investigation.
