LANCASTER, Ohio -- A 4-month-old child remains on life support and county officials may have to make the decision to end or continue the child's life.
NBC 4's Marcus Thorpe reported with the FAST FACTS.
Lancaster Police were called to an apartment on Trace Drive on Halloween night.
Authorities found an unresponsive 4-month-old, a police report said. The report said the infant was placed into a home by Fairfield County Job and Family Services.
NBC 4 talked to Fairfield County residents who said if the infant is on life support, a decision should be made soon.
"Usually, if someone is brain dead, they don't come back. You have to let them go," one resident said.
"Somebody will have to. I think it's the proper thing to do -- pull the plug – that's my opinion," another shared.
No criminal report has been filed regarding this case.
The Fairfield County Prosecutor's Office said there have been conversations between their office and Fairfield County Job and Family Services. Both call the situation very troubling.
NBC 4's calls to Fairfield County Job and Family Services were not returned Wednesday.
