Many Find Smelly Problem With Front-Load Washers

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Front-load washing machines clean clothes with a minimum of energy and water, compared to top loaders.

But the thing that makes them green can also sometimes lead to odor problems.

The way the tub sits—on its side—can lead to water staying in the machine and turning stagnant.

Also, the tight-fitting rubber gaskets can develop mold.

Experts recommended consumers run a cycle with only hot water and bleach once a month.

They also said to leave the door open between cycle to let the inside of the washer dry out.
