COLUMBUS, Ohio –An aggravated robbery on the south side of Columbus is this week’s Crime of the Week. Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is hoping you might recognize the suspect and claim a cash reward.
On August 24, 2009 a young white male wearing a hood entered the Thornton Gas Station on Alum Creek Drive. The first sign of trouble may have been that he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt over a ball cap in the middle of a hot summer evening.
The man approached the clerk implying he was armed and demanding money, but no gun was seen. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands and he suspect fled the store with an undetermined amount of cash in a silver or gray car.
The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and around 160 pounds. Under his hooded sweatshirt, he was wearing a number 11 jersey.
