COLUMBUS, Ohio -- On Saturday evening just before 9 p.m., a man went to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and shortly after was arrested by police.
Columbus police were called to the apartment on Canonby Place around 8:53 p.m. when it was reported 40-year-old Antoine Elmore was allegedly beating his ex-girlfriend 22-year-old Tananyia Anderson.
It was later learned when Anderson opened the door to her apartment, expecting someone else, Elmore forced open the door and went into the apartment where he began punching and kicking Anderson numerous times. Anderson was able to escape her apartment, but Elmore followed, continuing to assault her until a passerby stopped the attack.
Elmore was apprehended at the scene and, according to reports, was charged with aggravated burglary.
