COLUMBUS, Ohio - Prices at Ohio gas pumps have jumped 12 cents in the last week, ahead of the busy Thanksgiving holiday travel period.
A survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express puts the current statewide average for regular-grade gasoline at $2.60 per gallon, up from $2.48 last Monday.
A holiday forecast from AAA looks for a nearly 3 percent increase in Ohioans taking Thanksgiving trips this year, reflecting improving consumer confidence in the economy.
Last year at this time, gas cost almost a dollar less in the state, with regular averaging about $1.74 per gallon.
