2 Crashes Cause Slowdowns On I-71 SB

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Two separate multiple-vehicle crashes caused slowdowns on Interstate 71 southbound Tuesday morning.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

Authorities closed lanes of I-71 southbound at East 11th and East 5th avenue exits for a multiple-vehicle crash before 8 a.m.

A second multiple-vehicle crash happened on I-71 southbound at I-670 shortly after.

I-71 southbound was reduced to one lane between 11th Avenue and I-670. The left was open at 11th Avenue, and the right lane was open at I-670, according to ODOT.

Authorities were called to the scene for crash investigation and cleanup.

Traffic started moving again at about 8:43 a.m.
