COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The National Retail Federation predicts bigger crowds out for Black Friday this year compared to last year.
Electronic specials are always popular. This year you'll save about $100 on 32 inch LCD flatscreen TVs. Expect to save about $40 on average on GPS devices. Digital cameras are expected to go for around $100.
But some retailers, like Babies R Us, are focusing on staples as practical gifts. You'll find deals on jumbo packs of diapers and baby food.
Some central Ohioans have made creating a game plan for Black Friday a Thanksgiving tradition.
"That's what we do on Thanksgiving. We look through all the ads and everything and definitely if I find a deal I'll go out. I won't be there at four in the morning or anything, but I'm going to look for it," said Kristy Scott.
This year you can use social networking to keep track of all the deals available. Twitter is sending up-to-the-minute tweets right to your cell phone. Just type Black Friday into the search field on the website.
If you have an iPhone you can download a bar code scanner application. When you scan the bar code of an item at a store, the application will tell you if you can find it cheaper somewhere else.
